All change for miners' strike battlefield
A quarter of a century after the "battle of Orgreave", the most violent clash during the miners' strike, the area is being redeveloped in a multi-million pound project. Will the past simply be forgotten?
Perhaps, a statue of King Arthur Scargill on a column to match the one of Nelson in Trafalgar Square should mark this battle site?

It would seem fitting to mark it in some way. It is a piece of history after all.
I think a large statue might be a bit much though ;-)
It just goes to show how much the Labour party has changed when it morphed into NuLabor.
I notice that not one Labour MP has voiced any support for a memorial for Orgreave.
It should be marked in someway as it is a part of our history.
I think in years to come historians will look back upon the miner's strike as a pivotal moment in our social history.
