BBC misreports Red Ken's role in race claim

I am surprised that the BBC is reporting Ex-London Mayor Ken Livingstone rejects claims Sir Ian Blair is guilty of racism. Given that it is the role of the employment tribunal to decide whether Deputy Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur's claims have merit.

Who is Ken Livingston? His opinion counts for what?

If he was someone important and in Government it might possibly be different, at a real push, but he's just another out of work ex politician now, so his opinion really is worth the same as rocking horse S**t, non-existent.

ianpj,

If it's simply a matter for internal enquiry/Tribunal, who reported just one side of the story to the press?

I've witnessed the 'race card' used and abused as an 'excuse' for dismissal.

Ken Livingstone has the right to have an opinion and voice it. Who wrote the press report and on what basis ? Hearsay, prejudice ?

It sounds like political manoeuvering; rumours of EU policing policies etc. Brown didn't want the electorate questioning or refusing the Lisbon Treaty. Perhaps Sir Ian has voiced unwelcome concerns.
