Ex-police officer jailed over sex abuse
A retired police officer has been jailed for four years after being convicted of a "systematic" campaign of sex abuse against two young girls.
It makes you wonder when simply downloading child pornography attracts a 2 year jail term, and yet years of actual physical sexual abuse only warrants an additional 2 years? Then there is the abuse of power aspect which should have attracted a heavier penalty.
As I was saying...
Sex offender jailed for 11 years
A former RAF serviceman who sexually abused and raped a Lincolnshire girl has been sent to jail for 11 years.
David Potter, 56, of the High Street, Brampton in Huntingdon, Cambs, admitted seven sexual assault charges and was found guilty of rape earlier this year.
He began abusing the girl around Christmas 2003 when she was 12 years old and living in the Lincoln area, Lincoln Crown Court heard.
Judge Michael Heath condemned Potter for showing no remorse.
He said his arrogance was plain to see.
Potter was also placed on the sex offenders register and banned from having unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18 for the rest of his life.
