Prison governor says stuff prisoners turkey this Christmas

Prison governor says stuff prisoners turkey this Christmas

It did not take long for the fall out from this case to spread from a maximum security prison to a low category resettlement prison. Ebenezer Scrooge, the governor of Blantyre House, has decided to take turkey and Christmas pudding off the prisoners Christmas Day menu, because he does not believe that this once a year treat is publicly acceptable. Bah humbug!

Apparently, the governor had also decided to block prisoners from benefiting from the Release On Temporary Licence Scheme over the Xmas period. However, this decision was challenged by a prisoner who states "he had allowed Muslim prisoners to go out on the celebration of Eide and actually gave them travel warrants to go to the Mosque and be at home with their families".

Frozen turkey is cheaper per kg than half decent sausages. Left overs make very nutritious soup .....

Then again, economic common sense probably plays no part.

Maybe if Muslims ask for turkey then it'll be given to everybody.

Well, it seems that the prison service bends over backwards for them ... or should that be forwards for a good a*se f*cking?

You forgot to mention the prawn cocktails were off the menu as well!
But you do wonder what this will do for morale in the prison and relationships between prisoners themselves.
Might be a case of throwing petrol onto an already smouldering fire.

what a spineless toad. Perhaps he should just cut out the middleman and let the daily mail editor run the nick. Remember, also, that the xmas dinner is found from the regular food budget, its not extra money. That the menu always looks far, far better on paper than on the plate is irrelevant, this is spectacularly petty.

There might not be turkey but there's certainly some "currying" favour going on...
