Barry George to be hounded by the authorities
It was more convenient for the authorities had Barry George not been successful with his appeal against the conviction for the murder of Jill Dando. That is, they could have simply locked him up and thrown away the key. His innocence now presents them with a problem.
The Telegraph is reporting "Barry George to move back to Jill Dando area at a cost of £50,000 a year to taxpayer".
As I understand it, the area of London which Barry George wishes to return to is called Fulham. Why the Telegraph has chosen to rename it the Jill Dando area is beyond me. Fulham is where Barry George lived before the police decided to fit him up for a crime which he had not committed. He is entitled to go back to that area and pick up his life.
Prior to the authorities invasion into his life, Barry George apparently has a history of pestering women. However, it did not seem to warrant interference by the authorities at the time. Why has it suddenly become such a big problem?
The Telegraph reports that Barry George "is expected to be placed under a Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement, which is designed to supervise sex offenders". This response by the authorities seems to be designed to monitor someone who is guilty of the Jill Dando murder, not someone who has been declared innocent of the crime. When Barry George needed the assistance of the authorities they were nowhere to be seen.
If anything, the quicker Barry George is given an interim compensation payment and shown how to approach prostitutes the better it will be for all concerned.

I couldn't agree more John. An innocent man is freed after it is grudgingly admitted that he was stitched up. And yet, you'd think he was an arch sex fiend out on parole to judge by the telegraph. Was he considered a "Sex Offender" before he rather naively admitted to following women, or had his home raided and photos discovered - interrogation and search which would never have happened had he not been stitched up like the proverbial kipper, and how many so called respectable professionals wouldn't be shamed were their houses to be raided, their hard discs analysed and their video collections browsed!
The telegraph, if anything it publishes can be taken as correct, states that George has an IQ of 75 placing him within the bottom 5% intellectually of the population, a fact that should merit nothing more than a recognised need for him to be assisted with certain functional needs which he is not able to cater for himself. Certainly not a cause for rebuke. How many people work at the telegraph? For every hundred, statistically there are 5 Georges. Next time you go to Tesco, if there are 20 people queuing, 1 has similar functional difficulties to George. A capacity crowd at Barcelona's Nou Camp stadium and you'd have 5,000 Georges. Yes, there are plenty of Georges, with help and understanding they can just take their place in society like anyone else. If we try to shaft them they will create a problem like anyone else, only we will have to bear the moral burden of having committed the reprehensible act of fitting up someone unable to realistically defend themself. An IQ of 75 equates, in layman's terms, to a mental age of 12, are we so desperate for convictions?
Well, he might be a potential sex pest in view of the attempted rape conviction and long history of 'stalking', but as that's historical, and as he's been declared innocent of Jill Dando's murder, it's difficult to see why he should be treated like someone out on parole...but it's just the way some of the press has chosen to present what the relevant agencies are basically intending as something of a 'care package' for him, isn't it? If he is living his life quietly and tells them to back off they aren't going to be doing much about it as it's intended to be helpful. That's how I see it, anyway. I hope he will be substantially compensated for his eight lost years and for the stress induced blindness - horrific.
